Boat Course (RMDL)

The one day "Boat Safe" approved Recreational Marine Drivers Licence course involves completing a range of theory and practical components which provide the novice and recreational boatee with the necessary skills to safely manage a recreational vessel. Units completed during the course are aimed at making students competent in:

• preparing a recreational vessel for operation
• applying international and state regulations relevant to the operation of a recreational vessel
• assessing weather conditions and forecasts
• operating mechanical and electrical appliances of a recreational vessel
• manoeuvring a recreational vessel
• applying safety management processes on a recreational vessel.

The BoatSafe endorsed workbook is used in conjunction with a multimedia presentation to ensure best teaching methods are used.

Practical training assessments are conducted in purpose built maritime safety approved training vessels that are in 2D and 2E survey.  Assessment is competency based which allows students the time to practice and gain sufficient skills to feel confident whilist on the water.    

Cost o f the boat course is $150. Combined with the PWC licence is $250.
